Message from The Editor: Hello and welcome to Nurture & Nanny’s July Newsletter!

Summer is officially here! It’s time to put away the sweaters and take out the flip flops and sun screen. Time to fire up the grill and send the kids to camp. Some of you might be heading out to a 4^th of July BBQ this weekend and your children might come into contact with fireworks. They are loud, beautiful, stunning, exciting, dangerous, and should only be handled by professionals. Here are some common sense safety tips that you can share with your children:

-          Always and only use fireworks under adult supervision

-          Read and follow directions

-          Always keep water and sand nearby

-          Never light indoors, use only outdoors

-          Never try to make your own fireworks

-          Only light one at a time

-          Tie hair back and wear safety goggles

-          Sparklers should be immersed in sand once they appear out – they are still very hot and can burn

With that being said, have a fantastic and safe 4^th of July!
