Hello and welcome to Nurture & Nanny’s May newsletter.

April was Child Abuse Awareness Month and Nurture & Nanny held its first Kidz Power Class presented by Pattie Fitzgerald of Safely Ever After (www.safelyeverafter.com.  It was great to see parents with an enthusiasm for child safety and children who were engaged in the material presented and having fun while learning invaluable information.

I’m looking forward to our classes being offered this month.  Not only are we holding our quarterly Nanny Support Group, where nannies get together to gain support, get their questions answered, and just enjoy each others company, but we are also hosting classes taught by The British Nanny Academy.  Subjects range from Nutrition to Building Self Esteem, Resilience, and Well Being in Children.  Families might want to consider sending their nannies to these worth-while classes.  To see what’s being offered this month and in the future, check out the One More Thing Section in our newsletters.

On a separate note, a very serious matter was brought to my attention last month – an article in the Los Angeles Times called “Use Care with Nanny Agencies.”  It upset me deeply that an agency who places nannies in private homes would handle them selves with such a lack of integrity.

The complete article can be viewed at:

At Nurture & Nanny we take pride in the fact that our clients have placed their trust in our hands.  Through in-person interviews, extensive reference checking, and comprehensive background checks, we only send out candidates that qualify to be represented by us.  We value our families, our nannies, and our reputation and would never conduct business in a way that would jeopardize that.  You can rest assured with Nurture & Nanny.

Stay cool and don’t forget the sunscreen.

All the best,

Lara

How to Avoid Toilet Training Battles with your Toddler
Toilet training is very important - both to parents and children. It's part of growing up and learning to have control over your own body. Read on to learn more.
It's All You
Have you ever seen that scattered, busy, all-over-the-place parent at your kids' school events? And have you seen the difference between their grade-schooler's or pre-teen's behavior in comparison to the kid whose parent is centered, composed, and effective in handling the hub-bub of raising kids? Which one are you? How is your child responding to the way you are?
